Our mission is simple – to educate the entertainment industry about the capabilities, toolsets, and best practices for professional creation and distribution of Windows Media format content. Whether you’re a post-production professional, a broadcaster, a distributor, or an individual artist - or you’re interested in VC-1, audio codecs, DRM, distribution technologies, or new consumer experiences - the Best Practices Laboratory (BPL) is a resource for you.
As an independent, not-for-profit organization supported by its corporate sponsors and participating product company members, the BPL offers demonstrations and regularly scheduled workshops free of charge to companies and industry individuals interested in learning about Windows Media Technologies.
Our state-of-the-art facility is located at the historic Raleigh Studios in Hollywood and consists of demonstration suites, meeting rooms, a digital living room, and digital connectivity to the 160-seat Chaplin Theatre.
